Maura Dacey,

BSN, RN

PRESIDENT

As the Nurse in Charge of the Yawkey 5 exam practice at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, MA, I strive to promote ONS's mission through the support and encouragement of my fellow colleagues.

My previous role as the Director at Large of BONS allowed me to work closely with the board of directors and chapter members, learning about all aspects of oncology care.  As the President Elect, I look forward to helping the chapter grow throughout the city and open up new educational opportunities for my fellow oncology nurses.

Lorraine Drapek,

I am excited for 2020.  We are hoping to engage more members both in educational offerings and in social events.  We are hoping to explore having a program via webinar.  We have more opportunities for scholarship for education and conferences.  We look forward to hearing from our membership with current feedback and with suggestions so that we can continue to improve.

SECRETARY

As the Director of Ambulatory Oncology Clinical Services within the Cancer Center at Massachusetts General Hospital, I am passionate about creating innovations in practice, excellence in patient care and patient outcomes.

My scholarly work focused on financial toxicity and the oncology patient and educating nurses on their role in assessing and intervening in this highly distressing side effect of cancer care. I am very
thankful for the support BONS provided my work and am excited to give back as the BONS secretary.

Michele Barber,

MS, GNP-BC, AOCNP

PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR

As an Oncology Clinical Educator with Daiichi Sankyo, Michele has a passion for promoting the valuable expertise of oncology nurses in many healthcare settings and a commitment to ONS's mission to lead the transformation of cancer care.

BONS continues to meet the education, networking, and professional needs of oncology nurses in Boston and surrounding community through many innovative channels.

This year we've implemented new ways to make meetings fun and interactive while giving back to our community through raffles and door prizes at our chapter sponsored meetings.  In 2020, there are plans to access web-based education platforms to reach a wider audience - at their location - as well as larger individual contributions to nursing education.  We would also like to partner more with our many schools of nursing to identify and support future oncology nurses.   It is a great time to be a member of BONS and I encourage everyone to get as involved as they can.
