Winter/Spring 2026 - MA Department of Public Health (MDPH) Sexual Assault
Nurse Examiner (SANE) Hybrid Certification Training

The MA SANE Program is seeking committed Registered Nurses, licensed in
Massachusetts, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in any nursing specialty to
apply for our Winter/Spring 2026 SANE Certification Training. You will join our dedicated
team of SANEs from across the Commonwealth who are making a difference in the
lives of patients who have been sexually assaulted.
Upon completion of the SANE certification training, successful candidates contract as
individuals with MDPH to join a regional SANE team providing on-call coverage and
responding to a group of designated hospitals to provide 1:1 care, including forensic
examinations/evidence collection for adolescent and adult patients who have been
sexually assaulted. The monthly on-call requirement is a minimum of 24 hours.
Scheduling is flexible and on-call reimbursement is competitive.
This hybrid training will be held from March 26, 2026 – May 12, 2026 and consists of
7 virtual days of training from 9AM-1PM (inclusive of a written certification exam) and 3
clinical days at UMass Medical School in Worcester (inclusive of a practical exam).
